Hey guys! As you might already know from the blog or my social media, I’ve already spent some time in the US. In today’s post I would like to tell you about my first impressionsand adventures. Have a nice reading!
So I arrived in Colorado Thursday August 17th. I flew by a very well-known flying company – Lufthansa (Kraków – Munich – Denver). All the journey has been very exhausting, in addition there’s a big jetlag of 8 hours which you have to adjust to, not only because of sleeping, but also because of calling to your closest people in Europe what often seems to be not a small problem.. There’s also a very high altitud in Colorado. I had never lived in themountains before so sometimes I use an oxygen mask.
The next day I went to school with a Rotary person in order to choose the courses and see the place in which I’ll be studying the next school year. Frankly, I’m a little bit nervous. The school starts this Wednesday (August 23rd) and the subjects that I took are pretty hard – physics, chemistry, biology, math, English, US history, world history and geography.. cause I do not want to repeat the school year in Slovakia.
After a night spent at my Youth Exchange Officer, I finally made it to the familywhere I could pack off. The mum’s name is Anne, she is a very nice, inteligent person. We talk about everything – school, politics, Europe, about death of my father, things we believe in etc. She’s also a vegetarian what is very convenient to me. Lately we were walking throughBreckenridge and we also got to see the acrobatic show.
On Sunday we drove to the Rotary meeting with Jenni, first welcome picnic for the exchange students. As we had some little time before the meeting, she took me to theamfitheatre Red Rocks, where artists like Ella Fitzgerald or The Beatles were performing. A place worth seeing, in addition I met some Polish people living in Denver haha
